G702 vs G703 in plain English
The G702 is the Application and Certificate for Payment: the summary page with the contract sum, change orders, work completed to date, retainage, previous payments and the current payment due, plus signatures. The G703 is the continuation sheet: the line-by-line detail for every schedule of values item, with scheduled value, work completed this period and to date, stored materials, percent complete, balance to finish and retainage. Owners and architects expect both together.

Start with an SOV tied to the contract
Athena sets up the schedule of values with you, line by line, and reconciles it to the contract sum. Approved change orders are added as their own lines, so the G703 total always ties to the adjusted contract sum and the G702 summary ties to the G703.
Cost-loaded CPM to monthly billing forecast
With the SOV loaded onto the CPM activities, Athena directs your AI to produce the monthly billing forecast: gross billing, retainage and net billing by month, with the cumulative curve. When the schedule moves, the forecast moves with it.
Retainage, stored materials and change orders
Athena keeps retainage at the rate in your contract, tracks materials stored on site or off site separately from work in place, and only carries approved change orders onto the pay app. Pending changes stay on the change order log until they're approved. How the logs work.
Review before you submit
Athena checks that the G703 lines sum to the G702, that the total ties to the SOV and the adjusted contract sum, and that percent complete matches the latest schedule update. You review every number, sign and submit it yourself. Athena doesn't submit pay apps for you.
